To excel at what you do, what will you say no to in 2024?
My summer read: Great at Work by Morten Hansen.
Perfect timing heading into a fresh year.
The headline : do what matters (with speed & accuracy) and focus on doing that well. Really well. As you set your goals for 2024 it is sage advice.
It sounds simple.
But it does mean saying no: a challenge with cultures that continually encourage ‘do more’.
Mortens advice: don’t dilute your goals, keep a sharp focus on what is valuable. And I mean razor sharp. Then zero in on being spectacular at that.
The book has a number of practical approaches to assessing the value of a collaboration, improving skills in short bursts and getting more value out of meetings.
But the key: sharpen your goals. Then get really good at those.
